What is BEAT™?
BEAT™ (Beck Emotional Access Technique®) is the acting method taught at Beck Academy, developed by founder and director Fay Beck. It’s a practical methodology for accessing emotion, allowing you to play characters who behave and experience the world differently to you.
In a drop-in class, your coach draws on BEAT™ to help sharpen your performance in the moment — it’s not formal instruction in the method itself. That begins in our structured courses.

What is a drop-in acting workshop?
A drop-in acting workshop is a single, 2.5-hour class you can book on its own — no course enrolment, no ongoing commitment. It’s beginner-friendly and covers warm-up, core technique, and scene or exercise work with live coaching.
Do I need any acting experience to join?
No. This workshop is designed to be open and welcoming to complete beginners and anyone curious about acting who wants to try it without committing to a course.
How does it work?
Before the session, the teacher will assign scenes for you to choose from. You might choose to work on the material in preparation or workshop it in class with the coach.
Can I book more than one class?
Yes. Classes are pay-as-you-go, so you can book as many individual sessions as you like, whenever you like.
Is this the same as a full acting course?
No. This is a single session, not formal instruction in BADA’s BEAT™ method – that’s taught in full in our structured courses, including the 12-Week Ultimate Acting Course.
