Beck Academy of Dramatic Art (BADA) offers acting classes in London for complete beginners through to working professionals. We are a Spotlight Approved independent drama school in Hackney Wick, East London, founded by Fay Beck, an award-winning writer, director and producer who is currently undertaking postgraduate research in neuroscience.
Our acting classes are unlike any others in London because every class, course and coaching session is grounded in the Beck Emotional Access Technique® (BEAT™), the UK’s only registered neuroscience-based acting methodology. Whether you want a single evening class, a 12-week course, a two-year part-time programme or one-to-one coaching, you train in one method, in small groups, with working industry professionals.

What acting classes does Beck Academy offer in London?
BADA offers drop-in evening acting classes, a two-year part-time Drama Course, a six-stage Professional Screen Acting Program, short screen acting courses, a showreel course and one-to-one coaching. Everything is taught in Hackney Wick, East London, and coaching is also available online.
Where are your acting classes held?
Classes take place in person at Beck Academy of Dramatic Art, Unit 304, Level 3, The Permanite Building, 451 Wick Lane, Fish Island, London E3 2TB, in the Hackney Wick area of East London.
I have never acted before. Is Beck Academy right for me?
Yes. Many of our students arrive with no acting experience and go on to complete our longer programmes. A drop-in class or our 12-week Stage 1 course for beginners is the best starting point, taught by industry professionals in small groups.
How much do acting classes cost in London?
Drop-in evening acting classes at BADA cost £30 per 2.5-hour session. Our 12-week Ultimate Acting Course (Stage 1) is £864 for two evenings a week or £1,296 for three. One-to-one coaching starts from £75 per session. Longer courses have monthly payment plans.
Can I take acting classes in the evenings?
Yes. All our group classes and courses run in the evenings, so you can train around full-time work. Drop-in classes need no enrolment, and our part-time courses run two or three evenings a week.
What is the Beck Emotional Access Technique?
BEAT™ is the UK’s registered, neuroscience-based acting methodology, created by Fay Beck. Instead of asking you to pretend or imagine, it teaches you how your emotional system works and how to access emotional truth safely, consistently and without force. It is the core of everything we teach.
Are your courses Spotlight Approved?

Can I get acting coaching online?
