Private coaching changes actors faster than any group class. It is the space where your specific habits, blocks, and untapped potential become the entire focus of the work.
At Beck Academy of Dramatic Art, one-to-one coaching is delivered by two coaches whose backgrounds are genuinely unique in the acting training world: a postgraduate neuroscience researcher who is also an award-winning writer, director and producer — and a working film actress whose credits include major international productions.
You are not being coached by teachers. You are being coached by practitioners who understand what it takes to perform at the highest level — and who can show you exactly how to get there.

The Coaching Approach
Beck Emotional Access Technique®
The Beck Emotional Access Technique® is a UK-registered acting methodology created by Fay Beck — the only method of its kind in the UK. Grounded in contemporary neuroscience, BEAT™ teaches actors how emotion originates in the body, how behaviour forms automatically from emotional systems, and how to access emotional truth safely, consistently, and without force or strain.
Fay is currently undertaking a Masters in Neuroscience, investigating the precise connections between emotion, behaviour, identity, personality, and character. Every session draws directly on this ongoing research.
Meisner-Informed Technique
BEAT™ extends Meisner’s principles using contemporary neuroscience — giving actors deeper and more consistent emotional access than Meisner alone provides.
Psychology-Informed Training
Grounded, safe, and emotionally intelligent coaching — helping you understand your instrument, identify your blocks, and work with your system rather than against it.
Screen and Stage Calibration
Fay’s experience as an award-winning director gives her a distinctive ability to coach screen performance from the director’s perspective — not just the actor’s.
Martina coaches screen acting from a perspective most coaches cannot offer: she is still doing it. Her credits are current, her sets are recent, and her coaching reflects exactly what the industry demands right now.
How the Acting Coaching Sessions Work
All sessions are 60 minutes. Available online via Google Meet, or in-person at our London studio with professional camera equipment. Weekday and evening availability.
- Initial Needs Assessment — understanding your goals, experience, and what to focus on
- Technique and Presence — building emotional access, instinct, and truthful performance
- Scene Work and Practical Application — increasingly complex material from theatre, film, or television
- Confidence and Creative Ownership — advanced techniques for trust, risk-taking, and sustained presence

Acting Coaching Options FAQ’s
What is the difference between a single session and a development pack?
A single session is focused on a specific immediate need — an audition, a self-tape, or a particular scene. A development pack is a structured progression. Both coaches offer development pack training. Every session in a pack is recorded.
If working with Fay, she will assess your strengths and weaknesses, map a tailored development pathway, curate scripts specifically matched to your development arc, and work with you session by session.
Can I buy more than one pack?
Yes — packs are non-expiring and stackable. Many clients purchase pack after pack on an ongoing basis as their work deepens. Each new pack builds directly on the previous one. There is no fixed endpoint — the work is as ongoing as you choose to make it.
What is a monthly subscription?
A monthly subscription gives you a fixed weekly coaching session paid monthly in advance. It is rolling month-to-month with 30 days notice to cancel. Subscriptions are ideal for actors who want coaching as a regular ongoing practice — not occasional sessions. All subscriptions sessions include the same inclusions as development packs: tailored pathway, script curation (Fay), and full recordings.
Are sessions recorded?
Yes. All online sessions are fully recorded. In-person sessions include clips and an audio recording. These are yours to keep and review between sessions.
How much does coaching cost?
Single sessions with Fay Beck: from £100 online. Development packs from £80/session (15-session online pack). Monthly retainer from £340/month (4 online sessions). Martina Avogadri: single sessions from £75 online. Monthly retainer from £220/month.
Who should I work with — Fay or Martina?
Fay Beck is the creator of the Beck Emotional Access Technique® and brings a director’s perspective — particularly suited to actors who want the deepest level of methodological work or who want to be coached by someone who understands performance from both sides of the camera. Martina Avogadri is a working international film actress — her coaching is grounded in direct experience of professional sets at the highest level and is especially effective for screen acting and ongoing technical practice.
Do you coach writers, directors, and filmmakers?
Yes — Fay works with writers, directors, and filmmakers who want to understand performance more deeply, communicate more precisely with actors, and develop character with greater psychological authenticity. Drawing on her neuroscience research and award-winning career as a writer and director.
Is online coaching as effective as in-person?
Yes — the coaching itself is identical in quality. In-person sessions include professional camera equipment which is particularly useful for screen acting and self-tape work. Online sessions are available globally and equally effective for technique, text work, emotional access, and audition preparation.
