Martina Avogadri — Screen Acting Coach London
Martina Avogadri is a working film actress and acting coach at Beck Academy of Dramatic Art. Her credits include major international productions — Netflix’s Lift alongside Jean Reno and Kevin Hart, The Diplomat (Season 2), and productions for Film4 and Studiocanal. She coaches from the inside of the industry, not the outside.
Trained at the Paolo Grassi Drama School in Milan and holding a degree in aesthetics from the University of Milan, Martina brings a rare combination of academic rigour and active professional experience to every coaching session. Her coaching is grounded in what the industry demands right now — because she is still working in it.

Martina Avogadri Biography
Martina originally trained as an actress at the Paolo Grassi Drama School in Milan — one of Italy’s most prestigious conservatoires — graduating in 2012. Alongside her actor training, she studied philosophy at the University of Milan, completing a degree in aesthetics: the philosophy of art. This dual formation — rigorous actor training alongside the philosophical analysis of what art is and how it works — continues to shape everything about how she teaches.
After several years working as an actress across theatre and screen in Italy, Martina relocated to London in 2016 to deepen her practice. She joined Fay Beck’s studio, where working closely with Fay she re-examined her approach to character, emotional access, and the teaching of performance from the ground up. The alignment between her philosophical background and Fay’s neuroscience-grounded BEAT™ methodology was immediate — and she became a central part of the teaching team.
Her screen career has continued in parallel. Her credits include the Netflix feature Lift, opposite Jean Reno and Kevin Hart, and The Diplomat (Season 2) for Netflix — alongside productions for Film4, Studiocanal, and a range of independent features. Working on sets at this level, recently, is the foundation of her coaching. She knows what the industry requires, because she is still meeting those requirements herself.
Martina is currently completing a specialisation in Script Development at the National Film and Television School — further deepening her analytical approach to text, character, and story structure. She co-owns Aberrant Gene Films, a production company, with Fay Beck, where she develops and produces film projects alongside her acting and coaching work.
Most acting coaches teach from memory. Martina teaches from direct, current experience. She was on set last year. She knows what a director on a Netflix production needs from an actor in a close-up. She knows what it feels like to hold a scene in front of a full camera crew. That knowledge does not come from books or training — it comes from doing it, recently, at a professional level.
Her coaching is precise, technically informed, and emotionally rigorous. She works across screen and stage technique, script analysis, audition preparation, emotional preparation, and the psychological dimension of character — drawing on her background in aesthetics and philosophy to give actors a conceptual grip on work that can otherwise feel instinctive and difficult to repeat.
She is also trained in Beck Emotional Access Technique® (BEAT™) — the neuroscience-grounded acting methodology developed by Fay Beck — which gives every session a methodological depth that distinguishes BADA’s coaching from standard session-by-session feedback.

Sessions with Martina are tailored entirely to your needs. Common areas of work include

- Audition preparation and mastery
- Monologue coaching and text analysis
- Script breakdown and actioning
- Emotional preparation using BEAT™
- Character development and advanced characterisation
- Screen acting technique and calibration

FAQ’s About Acting Coaching with Martina Avogadri
Who is Martina Avogadri?
Martina Avogadri is an Italian-British film actress and acting coach based in London. She is a senior teacher and coach at Beck Academy of Dramatic Art, where she delivers one-to-one coaching and contributes to the school’s part-time acting programmes. Her screen credits include Lift (Netflix), The Diplomat Season 2 (Netflix), and productions for Film4 and Studiocanal. She trained at the Paolo Grassi Drama School in Milan and holds a degree in aesthetics from the University of Milan. She is currently completing a Script Development specialisation at the National Film and Television School (NFTS).
What does Martina specialise in as a coach?
Martina specialises in screen acting, script analysis, emotional preparation, and audition technique. Her coaching is particularly effective for actors working on camera — both for self-tapes and professional set work — because she is still actively working as a screen actress herself. She brings a director-informed understanding of what performance requires in close-up: interior life, emotional economy, stillness, and the technical discipline that allows truthful work to be repeatable across multiple takes. She also works extensively in audition preparation for drama school applicants and professional actors.
Is Martina Avogadri a working actress?
Yes. Martina’s acting career is active and ongoing. Her most recent credits include the Netflix feature Lift and The Diplomat (Season 2) for Netflix, alongside productions for Film4, Studiocanal, and a range of independent films. This is central to what distinguishes her coaching: she brings current, direct experience of professional sets into every session. She knows what is required of an actor in a Netflix production because she has delivered that work recently.
How much does coaching with Martina cost?
Single sessions with Martina Avogadri cost from £75 online and £90 in-person at BADA’s London studio. Development packs (5, 10, or 15 sessions) are available from £65 per session online. Monthly subscriptions — four weekly sessions per month — are available from £220 per month, rolling monthly with 30 days’ notice to cancel. All sessions are recorded and the recordings are yours to keep.
What is the difference between coaching with Martina and coaching with Fay Beck?
Fay Beck is the creator of the Beck Emotional Access Technique® and approaches coaching from a director’s perspective — particularly suited to actors who want deep methodological work or who are working on complex character development. Martina Avogadri coaches from the perspective of a working film actress — grounded in the direct, current experience of professional sets at the highest level. Both coaches are trained in BEAT™ and deliver coaching of equivalent rigour. The choice between them often comes down to what kind of perspective the actor needs most at this stage of their development.
Does Martina offer online acting coaching?
Yes — Martina offers online coaching globally via Google Meet. Online sessions are as effective as in-person sessions for technique, text work, emotional access, script analysis, and audition preparation. Martina’s international client base trains from across Europe, North America, and beyond. Online coaching is available at all pack sizes and as a monthly subscription.
What is BEAT™ and does Martina use it?
BEAT™ — Beck Emotional Access Technique® — is a registered UK acting methodology created by Fay Beck. It is grounded in contemporary neuroscience and teaches actors how to access emotional truth safely, consistently, and without force. Martina is trained in BEAT™ and integrates its principles into her coaching, giving sessions a methodological depth that goes beyond standard technique feedback. This means actors working with Martina are learning a consistent, repeatable approach to emotional access — not just receiving session-by-session notes.
