WHY THIS WORKSHOP

Not drama games.
Not a sales pitch.

Most drop-in acting sessions in London are unstructured drama games, or a soft pitch to sign you up for a full course once you’re in the room. This workshop is coached using technique informed by BEAT™ and Meisner work, led by Beck Academy’s professional teaching team, with no pressure to book anything else while you’re there.

The coaching approach

What is BEAT™?

BEAT™ (Beck Emotional Access Technique®) is the acting method taught at Beck Academy, developed by founder and director Fay Beck. It’s a practical methodology for accessing emotion, allowing you to play characters who behave and experience the world differently to you.

In a drop-in class, your coach draws on BEAT™ to help sharpen your performance in the moment — it’s not formal instruction in the method itself. That begins in our structured courses.

What's next

A drop-in acting workshop class gives you a taste of teaching, but it’s not where BEAT™ is actually taught. If you want to learn the method properly – not just experience it applied to your performance for one session – the 12-Week Ultimate Acting Course is where that starts.

QUESTIONS

Frequently ASked about
our acting workshops

What is a drop-in acting workshop?

A drop-in acting workshop is a single, 2.5-hour class you can book on its own — no course enrolment, no ongoing commitment. It’s beginner-friendly and covers warm-up, core technique, and scene or exercise work with live coaching.

No. This workshop is designed to be open and welcoming to complete beginners and anyone curious about acting who wants to try it without committing to a course.

Before the session, the teacher will assign scenes for you to choose from. You might choose to work on the material in preparation or workshop it in class with the coach.

Yes. Classes are pay-as-you-go, so you can book as many individual sessions as you like, whenever you like.

No. This is a single session, not formal instruction in BADA’s BEAT™ method – that’s taught in full in our structured courses, including the 12-Week Ultimate Acting Course.
